Water Dispensers
Is the water you are drinking safe?
Top Coolers unpacks the importance of drinking filtered water through water dispensers.
Every day you head to the water dispenser, fill your glass water bottle and drink without giving much thought to the quality of the water you are ingesting. Water purification machines and water filtration have come a long way over the past couple of years, but it is a highly complicated process.
While there is much debate around the difference between point-of-use (POU) water cooler dispensers versus bottled water solutions (BW), Shane Terblanche from Top Coolers, the exclusive distributors of a premium range of water dispenser innovations manufactured by Waterlogic, discusses these differences and how they impact the quality of the water you are drinking.
“Although there are many differentiators between the two, the biggest factor is the high-performance the BioCote© protection,” explains Terblanche. “The built-in BioCote© antimicrobial protection inhibits the growth of microorganisms by using silver ion technology that prevents the development of odour-causing bacteria and mould on the water dispenser area and filter.”
This advanced technology guarantees an endless supply of safe great-tasting quality water. “Furthermore, Firewall® technology provides the world’s highest standard of water purification. This is achieved through a unique double-helix spiral which allows water to flow from top to bottom and back, exposing the water to UVC radiations for much longer than conventional UV solutions,” adds Terblanche.
Firewall® is also the only water purification system certified by IAPMO R&T to NSF/ANSI 55 Class A, NSF P231 Protocol for Microbiological Water Purifiers, US EPA Guide Standard, NSF/ANSI 372 for lead-free compliance, and CSA B483.1. No other water dispenser features this standard of certification or provides this quality of filtered water.
“Preserving the health integrity of the workplace is hugely important to us at Top Coolers but ensuring a bright future for the environment is equally so. What makes a POU water dispenser machine so unique is the fact that it has zero environmental impact. This is because there is no need for BPA plastic bottles that end up on the landfill, nor are there emissions from the transport and chemical cleaning of these bottles,” explains Terblanche.
The risk of not using filtered water is that it will be unsterilised and untreated meaning that the quality of the water will be compromised and could contain dangerous microorganisms such as Giardia lamblia, cryptosporidium, and Vibrio cholera, which could lead to several health issues and complications, such as diarrhea, sepsis, cholera, and in extreme cases, death. Crumbling infrastructure, leaks in pipelines and damaged valves, and failing pump stations can introduce a variety of these contaminations.
Using a water dispenser that contains Firewall® mitigates the risk of ingesting this harmful bacteria, parasites, and viruses.
Some of our Firewall® water coolers include the WL7 Firewall® water dispenser, the Waterlogic WL2 water cooler, and, the Kastella™ Bar Classe. All of these water coolers purify water to the point of dispensing to provide quality filtered water. This range caters to all applications and venues such as boardrooms, pause areas, hotels, and restaurants. Depending on the water dispenser, a selection of cold, ambient, sparkling, hot, and extra hot are on offer.
